Tineka Smith Published 02 May 2012

The music streaming service has launched an iPad version which is now available to download in Apple’s App store.

The iPad application comes with a new full screen view and airplay integration. The addition of the airplay integration feature will be a well liked one as users can put tracks they like from the iPad app onto other Apple compatible devices.

Spotify has also added features to make their iPad application experience visually stimulating.

"We've included Retina graphics and high-definition album art to make browsing a pleasure," said Spotify.

The iPad application is only free for subscribers, but users can sign up for a 30 day free trial.

An Android version is expected to be available in the coming weeks according to Charlie Hellman, Spotify's director of Product development.

Spotify users can search for music, playlists, and others users from the same view. There are also new features like gapless playback and crossfade and grouped messaging.

The music streaming service launched in 2008 by the Swedish startup Spotify AB. The company gained 10 million users within two years of which 2.5 million were paying for the service.
