APPLE`s PIPPIN CD-ROM GAMES MACHINE

CBR Staff Writer Published 15 December 1994

What PowerPC chip will the Apple Computer Inc Pippin CD-ROM games machine use? According to the International Herald Tribune, it will be the PowerPC 603, and will run a cut-down version of Mac OS 7.12; Pippin CD-ROM disks will be upwards-compatible with the Mac, but some modification will be needed to run ones created for the Mac on Pippin machines - presumably the latter will not include the 68000 emulator present in Power Macs.
