BP selects TCS, Wipro, Infosys for application development and maintenance

Consolidates its IT vendors for ADAM

India's IT majors Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Wipro, and Infosys have won new IT outsourcing contracts with UK's oil giant British Petroleum (BP).

Over the last 12 months, BP has undertaken a program to consolidate its IT vendors for application development and application maintenance (ADAM) to simplify its processes and improve service quality.

TCS has been selected for ADAM engagements in refining, manufacturing, and corporate IT with opportunities across fuels value chain including upstream and trading.

Wipro will provide ADAM services for BP's fuels value chain and corporate businesses. The agreement expands the scope of partnership with BP to additional business segments and newer geographies, Wipro said.

Wipro is expected to provide benefits of scale and efficiency by leveraging its global delivery model which will look at delivering services from locations across the globe for BP.

Infosys has been selected for ADAM work for BP's integrated supply, trading, exploration and production businesses.

Dana Deasy, BP Group CIO, said: In awarding Infosys ADAM work for our integrated supply and trading and exploration and production businesses, we look to leverage its capability and knowledge of the Oil and Gas sector. This agreement will enable BP to reduce complexity, standardize work processes, and lower our overall cost base.
