Includes data warehousing, business intelligence applications and virtualisation

Brocade, a member of the Oracle PartnerNetwork, has unveiled a set of technology offerings developed for use with Oracle database and application suites to enable the delivery of business systems functions.

Reportedly, Brocade and Oracle have jointly defined and tested multiprotocol technology platform sets designed to address the needs of small to medium businesses (SMBs) and midsize to large enterprises, through collaborative efforts with multiple technology partners.

Oracle worked with Brocade to develop multiple offerings for data warehousing, business applications, and virtualisation deployments that are now included in Oracle reference configurations.

According to Brocade, its storage area network (SAN) switches have been incorporated into multiple pre-tested Oracle design configurations to create high-performance, optimised database and data warehousing platforms. A range of Brocade networking products also supports Oracle VM server virtualisation software.

In addition, Brocade networking products helps to optimise business intelligence offerings. These offerings include, ServerIron Application Delivery Controller combined with FastIron LS for IP/ethernet connectivity to form Oracle reference architecture; and HP StorageWorks 8/24 SAN Switches (Brocade 300 switches) provide the network connectivity component of the HP and Oracle Consulting Accelerate Solution for industrial manufacturing.

Marc Randall, senior vice president of products and offerings at Brocade, said: “Being selected by Oracle, one of the world’s largest software vendors, to deliver the critical network infrastructure components of these innovative solutions is validation of the value of our proven, high-performance portfolio of data center offerings.”
