CSC has launched Petroleum Enterprise Intelligence, a new business intelligence (BI) application designed to help exploration and production (E&P) or 'upstream' oil and gas companies integrate technical, operational and financial information across the enterprise.
According to CSC, the new Petroleum Enterprise Intelligence which employs Oracle's business intelligence applications and the Information Store's (iStore) data access and visualisation technology, enables companies to understand the financial impact of field decisions, optimise well production and maximise effectiveness of operational decisions.
CSC said that by itegrating upstream and operational systems data, the new BI application provides analytical functions for exploration and production, refining and pipeline marketing, energy trading, financials, supply chain and workforce management. It addresses four key areas: business processes, information management, operations and technology infrastructure.
