Would you buy these new fashion frames for Google Glass?
Google has released a selection of designer frames and shades for its Google Glass headsets in collaboration with fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg.
The DVF | Made for Glass collections consists of five new frames and eight shades in two styles, which will be available from online fashion retailer Net-a-Porter and Google itself from 23 June.
The DVF-designed frames with Glass and prescriptive lenses will cost $1,725, while von Furstenberg’s sunglasses plus Glass will cost $1,620.
Google said in a blog post that the collection aims to give users "even more ways to make Glass your own".
This is not the first time Google has allied with Diane von Furstenberg. The designer’s models wore the headsets at New York Fashion Week 2012.
The deal comes after Google struck a deal with Luxottica, the Italian maker of Ray-Ban sunglasses to design, develop and distribute Google Glass eyewear in March.
It also follows Google’s January agreement with vision-care giant VSP Global to offer prescription lenses, subsidised frames and training for optometrists on how to properly fit the device.
