The labs are designed to test and develop data-driven applications built by its customers.
Accountancy group KPMG has opened a data and analytics centre, which it claims will help its clients unlock the value of their data faster.
The KPMG Insights Lab, which will have locations in the UK, US and India, will pour money into R&D applications around customer analytics, competitive positioning, regulatory compliance and predictive modelling.
The company said the initial focus will be on the financial services, healthcare, telecommunications, life sciences and retail sectors.
Alwin Magimay, partner and UK leader of digital and analytics at KPMG, said: "While companies are quickly pursuing strategies to capture and examine their data, what we’re providing is an environment for putting data-driven solutions to the test.
"The Labs were designed with input from member firms’ clients and alliance partners, and will help them to explore and pressure-test new applications and simulate real scenarios to derive insights faster."
The launch of KPMG Insights Labs is the latest step KPMG has taken in recent months to expand its portfolio of data and analytics (D&A) services.
In November 2013, KPMG International announced the launch of KPMG Capital to develop its data and analytics services, while member firms in the UK, US and Australia announced acquisitions and partnerships to drive more growth.
