Red Hat deploys tower platform for enterprises to scale DevOps.
Red Hat has made available the latest version of its enterprise-grade, automation platform, Ansible Tower 3.1.
The Ansible Tower platform enables enterprises to get through all complexities of modern IT environments with the use of powerful automation capabilities that can improve productivity and also reduce downtime.
Mary Johnston Turner, Research vice president, IDC said: “Ansible Tower 3.1 addresses these priorities by automating complex workstreams and making it easier for a wide range of developer and IT operations teams to apply automation to their day to day roles.”
The latest version provides enterprises with the opportunity to better scale DevOps automation, with the ability to link multiple playbooks into longer and more complex jobs to enhance productivity across the business.
Its new features provide greater value to IT teams, which include Multi-Playbook workflows in order to easily pair multiple existing jobs templates into a single job run without the need to create additional playbooks.
Scale-out clustering also increases the number of jobs that can be run simultaneously. This supports the new job details page which offers more applicable information that can be uses by a wider audience across the enterprise.
Other features include integration with enterprise logging providers, universal search functionality and user interface localised for Japanese and French.
Ansible’s open source automation project is deployed internally by Ansible Tower to provide users with more effective management systems and optimisation of multi-tier deployments. This is done while adding control, security and delegation capabilities.
Turner said: “Open source automation technologies are important in the continued successful evolution and adoption of DevOps within enterprise IT.
“Ansible Tower 3.1 addresses these priorities by automating complex workstreams and making it easier for a wide range of developer and IT operations teams to apply automation to their day to day roles.”
