FLIR Systems, a manufacture and marketer of thermal imaging and stabilized camera systems, has announced that it has received a $9.3 million fixed price contract from The Naval Surface Warfare Center's Crane Division, for AN/KAX-1A maritime forward looking infrared systems.
The stabilized, lightweight, multi-sensor systems delivered under this contract will support the long range ground mobility visual augmentation systems program and provide ground vehicles with an all-weather, day/night, high-resolution and stabilized thermal imaging capability.
Earl Lewis, president and CEO of FLIR Systems, said: "This contract, building on FLIR's existing relationship with the special operations community, demonstrates the value of our systems for emerging, vehicle-based applications and furthers our strategy to equip ground-based forces. We are pleased Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane has chosen FLIR products for this critical mission."
