Computer Associates International Inc and Google Inc are among the companies with products featured in Microsoft's Windows Partner Pack, which has made available to Windows XP users for free download.
A 12-month subscription to eTrust EZ Antivirus 2005 and the Google Deskbar are among the 11 products included in the pack. The pack also includes some games and some software from eBay PayPal, 3M, and Homestead.
For CA, the deal represents a tightening of the relationship announced earlier this year, under which consumers visiting Microsoft's security web site were offered a free download and one-year subscription to eTrust.
Google is perhaps a surprising addition to the pack, given that it and Microsoft compete already in web search and are already preparing to face off over desktop search. The Google Deskbar allows users to search the web from a non-browser application.
