Managed services for handheld support
IBM is to make enterprises the offer of a managed support contract to monitor the upkeep of deployed BlackBerry devices and deal with their integration with corporate back-end data systems.
Businesses will pay around $15 a month for each Blackberry device supported, and more if IBM is asked to handle end-user support calls or host the organisation’s BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
IBM Mobile Enterprise Services for the BlackBerry Enterprise Solution will help simplify the management and technical support of BlackBerry deployments and should help reduce operating costs, IBM said.
