Seeks small business SaaS appeal

Customer relationship management systems supplier iEnterprises Inc has become the latest specialty ISV lined up by IBM to tout SaaS-based services to smaller businesses.

The two companies have penned an agreement that will let the Lotus Notes and CRM software house to target small businesses in the construction, pharmaceutical and legal sectors with applications hosted on IBM technology and delivered in software-as-a-service mode.

Privately-held iEnterprises which has its main offices in New Jersey, produces desktop and wireless CRM packages and also has a line in tools that synchronise CRM systems with Lotus Notes email boxes.

The company already offers a hosted deployment option for its Empower CRM system and is currently working to integrate with IBM’s new LotusLive service that will eventually give users access to CRM information from a BlackBerry or Windows Mobile handheld.

IBM currently works with more that 100 application providers who have adopted their systems for SaaS delivery and either use IBM hardware or middleware, or host their applications at an IBM Managed Services data centre.
