Flag collaboration in Open Source Moblin and Maemo platform projects
Intel Corp and Nokia today announced they would work together to develop a new class of mobile computing chipset for use in next generation devices.
The two companies said they would collaborate in several open source mobile Linux software projects in order to develop common technologies for use in Intel Atom processor-based devices and mobile computers such as the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet.
Intel said it would also build Nokia's HSPA/3G modem technologies into some future chipset solutions.
The companies claimed the announcement of their strategic relationship would help shape the next era of mobile computing innovation.
