The BlueMix Garage will be located San Francisco and will open its doors in June.
IBM has launched its first cloud online marketplace, a BlueMix developer garage, it claims will facilitate developers, product managers and designers to collaborate with experts to deliver new cloud apps.
The company hopes the open platform-as-a-service (PaaS) will pay ff in terms of developer traction and market uptake.
Developers can work with IBM experts and entrepreneurs from various companies to gain cloud integration, scalability and security skills for building cloud apps and services on BlueMix.
The BlueMix Garage will be located San Francisco's South of Market and will open its doors in June 2014.
Galvanize CEO and co-founder Jim Deters said: "The inclusion of IBM's first BlueMix Garage within the Galvanize community will equip our strong network of developers with the ability to competitively innovate apps with speed, using the power of cloud and open standards."
IBM's Cloud Platform Services general manager Steve Robinson added: "Rapidly growing numbers of beta participants are embracing our model of extending their existing assets and services into a cloud-based, open-source development platform, allowing our clients to bridge between the tools they are planning for the future and the workloads and services they use today to get them to market faster."
