Microsoft buys Gteko

CBR Staff Writer Published 27 September 2006

Microsoft Corp has paid an undisclosed sum for privately held Gteko Ltd. Ra'anana, Israel-based Gteka offers products that are designed to help PC and peripherals manufacturers, ISPs, and software vendors to improve service quality while reducing call center costs.

Moshe Lichtman, president of MS Israel R&D Center, said that by the end of the decade, Microsoft will significantly expand its operations in the consumer sector, and by providing simple solutions to a wide range of PC problems, Gteko was a particularly attractive opportunity.

Gteko counts HP, Cisco-Linksys, and Canon among its customer base.
