Google has introduced a Hangouts calling option which enables users to get in touch with any location through the desktop web browser.
While it was always easier to call a store or restaurant after performing a Google search through phone, calling straight from computer always remained a bit of a hassle as users had to frequently copy the number into their voice app.
Now Google is doing away with this minor technicality with the Hangouts calling option.
When a user calls a phone number from Hangouts, a basic Google Voice account is automatically opened that allows access to features, including call history and calling credit.
But there is a catch here. To receive calls in Hangouts or get access to the complete set of Google Voice features, a complete upgrade to Google Voice account is required, which is currently only available in the US.
In the US calls to any American or Canadian number are free.
Google hangout is a recent entrant to the app party, but it is already making its presence felt with several easy-to-use features as a group video conferencing option that enables multiple users to video chat together at the same time; compatibility with all smartphones; and group chat option.
