8.9-inch Nexus 9 will have 32GB of storage and an 8MP camera.

According to leaked specifications, HTC will build the next Google Nexus tablet.

Set to be an 8.9-inch device, codenamed Volantis, Android Police snapped up the leak which shows the tablet will have a 2048 x 1440 display.

Further specs leaked include a powerful NVIDIA Tegra K1 64-bit CPU with 2GB Ram. The device will be just 7.9mm thick and weigh 418 grams.

Stereo front-facing speakers make an appearance, alongside 32GB of storage and an 8MP camera.

Last month it emerged that Google may axe the Nexus line of mobile and tablet devices, cancelling the Nexus 6 in favour of 'Android Silver'.

Android Silver would be a line of devices similar to the Google Play editions of smartphones, which are flasgships from other makers like Samsung and HTC with a Google Android makeover.

The Nexus 9 is not expected to debut at Google's I/O conference at the end of June.
