Microsoft is replacing covers for its new Surface tablet computer that are prone to cracking after two weeks or less of use.
Microsoft said in a statement that the firm is aware of a small number of instances of material separation of the cover accessory.
"Microsoft makes every effort to ensure our customers receive a high quality product," Microsoft said.
Featuring larger screen, built-in stand along with keyboard cover, the new Surface tablet is offered at a price range between $499 and $699.
The new tablet, developed for the lower-power ARM processors, also features Microsoft Office 2013 in addition to incorporated apps including Windows Mail and Windows Messaging, SkyDrive, Windows Internet Explorer 10, Bing, Xbox Music, Xbox Video, and Xbox Games.
The new Surface tablet can be propped on a table through a stand, then fold out the Touch Cover to make it use as a notebook.
