Samsung Electronics has launched its Galaxy Gear smartwatch which allows users to speak into their wrist instead of a mobile phone.
The Galaxy Gear, which incorporates a small 1.63in Super AMOLED screen, was unveiled at the IFA electronics fair in Berlin.
The South Korean smartphone maker said the smartwatch would boost demand for its Android-powered smartphones.
Features include a 800MHz processor, 1.9 Megapixel BSI Sensor, Auto Focus Camera, Samsung Apps, ChatON mobile communication service, Bluetooth, 4GB Internal memory, 512MB (RAM) and Li-ion 315mAh battery.
The device can be connected to Samsung's new Galaxy Note 3 smartphone using Bluetooth technology and comes preloaded with 10 different clock options and about 70 applications.
Samsung is planning to launch the new smartwatch together with the GALAXY Note 3 from 25 September 2013 in 140 countries globally.
