Last month it emerged that Google may axe the Nexus line of mobile and tablet devices, cancelling the Nexus 6 in favour of 'Android Silver'.
Android Silver would be a line of devices similar to the Google Play editions of smartphones, which are flasgships from other makers like Samsung and HTC with a Google Android makeover.
The Nexus 9 is not expected to debut at Google's I/O conference at the end of June.
