A new partnership from Samsung and Microsoft has unveiled it’s new device.
Samsung is set to expand its strategic partnership with Microsoft, with the two companies using Mobile Word Congress as a platform in which to launch a new 2-in-1 device for the enterprise mobility market.
The new 2-in-1 device, dubbed the Galaxy Book, is built on the Windows 10 platform and is available in 10.6-inch and 12-inch models. Designed for the mobile enterprise customer in mind, the lightweight models pack a punch in the power department.
Offering enterprise-grade performance, the 12-inch model has a 7th Generation Intel Core i5 processor Dual Core 3.1GHz, while the 10.6-inch model boasts an Intel Core m3 processor, Dual core 2.6GHz.
Jeeho Baek, Senior Vice President of B2B Product Management Group, Mobile Communications at Samsung Electronics, said: “We believe collaboration with key partners like Microsoft is essential for innovation, as it shares our vision for building excellence in mobile productivity.”
“Enterprise mobility allows businesses to expand the boundaries with which they operate and workers to gain flexibility in how they work. Together with Microsoft, we hope to further solve the challenges our customers face by creating flexible and secure technology.”
The Galaxy Book will allow users to use an improved version of Samsung Flow to sync their Galaxy smartphone with the Galaxy Book, communicate with Windows Hello to log in easily, and access Wi-Fi connections if a data connection is unavailable.
Peter Han, Vice President, Partner Devices and Solutions, Microsoft, said: “Microsoft and Samsung are working together to deliver innovative mobile experiences that help organisations with digital transformation, and the Samsung Galaxy Book is a great example of that focus in action”
“Samsung’s new Galaxy Book lights up digital capabilities of Windows 10, such as Windows Ink, that empower employees to achieve more by working in a more intelligent, portable and secure way.”
The companies have also combined their marketing, partner and sales programmes, and say they are committed to placing the needs of their customers first.
An initial release date for the Galaxy Book is yet to be confirmed.
