Nintendo wins one more Wii patent lawsuit

CBR Staff Writer Published 15 June 2009

US District Court judge summarily dismissed the charges

A US District Court judge has dismissed a patent-infringement lawsuit against Nintendo’s Wii video game machine brought by Guardian Media Technologies.

Guardian had alleged that the Wii console infringed on one of its patents (US Patent No. 4,930,158). Nitendo informed that the ruling by Judge Manuel Real was delivered within less than six months after the lawsuit was filed by Guardian.

Nintendo had earlier successfully won legal disputes against companies like Fenner Technologies and Nyko.

In 2006, Nintendo introduced the Wii, and along with it some other features, such as, Wireless motion-sensitive remote controllers and built-in Wi-Fi capability.
