Novell strikes white box desktop Linux deals

CBR Staff Writer Published 29 October 2006

Novell Inc announced that it has signed up four new white-box PC makers to pre-install its SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop on notebooks and desktop PCS.

The Waltham, Massachusetts-based Linux and identity management vendor inked deals with ETegro Technologies, Maxdata, and Transtec in Europe, and R Cubed Technologies in the US.

The deal follows an agreement with Lenovo Group Ltd in August to sell and support the Linux-based ThinkPad T60p mobile workstation, and Novell maintained there are more agreements with major hardware vendors in the works.
