OnRelay plans Windows Mobile support

Published:06-December-2007

OnRelay, a UK developer of fixed-mobile convergence technology, will add the Windows Mobile version of its client software in its next release, scheduled for the first quarter of 2008.

"Today our client runs on Symbian Series 60 and we're testing one to run on both the Smartphone Version and Pocket PC edition of Windows Mobile," said Marie Wold, president and CFO of the London-based company. She said Mobile PBX, or MBX server is at 3.1.4, and the next major release is 3.2 in the first quarter of next year, which is when the Windows Mobile client will be formally announced.

In terms of its go-to-market strategy, OnRelay has this year gone from focusing on the enterprise market directly to seeking relationships with carriers and service providers. The model for this is the OnePhone Business service from Swisscom Solutions, where the MBX server sits in the Swisscom network to deliver the FMC functionality. "We want to replicate Swisscom white-branded offering with other service providers," said Wold.
