The company’s flagship smartphone, Galaxy S III, sold 11 million units in the past two months alone.

Samsung has seen repeated success with its Galaxy S series, passing the 1 million sales mark this week.

The Galaxy S has reached over 24 million global channel shipments, and passed10 million within seven months of first launching in June 2010.

Samsung's Galaxy S II and III were even more successful with the Galaxy S II reaching around 40 million shipments after its release and the Galaxy SIII passing 20 million global channel sales in just 100 days.

The Galaxy S II has now passed the 40 million channel sales mark since launching last year and is currently Samsung's fastest selling smartphone.

"Samsung Galaxy smartphones are intuitive and easy to use, display photos and videos on dazzling screens, and deliver a premium user experience with a design that is elegant and feels natural," the company said.

Samsung's Galaxy SIII was dubbed the world's best selling smartphone model in Q3 2012 by Strategy Analytics.

The phone surpassed the number of shipments of Apple's iPhone 4s.

Analysts said the phone was propelled to the top spot with its large touchscreen and vast distribution across many countries.

"Samsung's Galaxy S3 smartphone model shipped 18.0 million units worldwide during the third quarter of 2012. The Galaxy S3 captured and impressive 11 percent share of all smartphones shipped globally and it has become the world's best selling smartphone model for the first time ever," said Neil Mawston, executive director at Strategy Analytics. "Apple shipped an estimated 16.2 million iPhone 4S units worldwide for second plates as consumers temporarily held off purchases in anticipation of a widely expected iPhone 5 upgrade at the end of the quarter."

Samsung has also had success with its Galaxy Note II, which sold two million units in just 24 days.

The phone was released at the end of September 2012 and sold three million units in the first month. The 'phablet' then went on to ship another two million after November 2 2012.
