Samsung launches new Diva handsets

Features Beauty Effect and Lomo Effect functions designed for women

Samsung Electronics has launched first phones of its ‘Samsung Diva Collection 2010’, the Diva (S7070) and the Diva folder (S5150), designed for women audience.

The company claims that Samsung Diva Collection 2010 offers functions specially developed for women mobile users, such as 'Beauty Effect', which provides photo retouching; and Lomo Effect, which enriches ordinary snapshots into artistic photographs. The Diva Collection also offers sensually designed fonts to add to its feminine appeal, and other features for women such as wish list, etiquette mode and security features.

According to Samsung, the Diva (S7070) features pearly-white embossed quilted back cover, diamond-shaped crystal button on the front, 3.2 megapixel camera featuring Beauty Effect and Lomo Effect, pop-up SNS that gives instant notification of updates on social networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace, and a multi-instant messenger that combines all user’s accounts into one application.

The Samsung Diva folder (S5150) offers a shiny, silver-toned back cover featuring a 3D quilted pattern, hidden LED screen called glittering LED, image editing features such as Beauty Shot and Lomo Effect, and built-in security features including SOS message and fake call.

The Samsung Diva Collection 2010 is a part of Samsung’s long-term goal to meet the unquenched needs of one of our most important target group, women mobile users.”

The Samsung Diva Collection 2010 is expected to be available in January 2010 in the Netherlands, Russia, Ukraine and other European countries, followed by Southeastern Asia and China.
