CBR Staff Writer Published 30 June 2009

The new laptop consists of Blu-ray drive and anti-bacterial keyboard

Samsung Electronics has launched the 16-inch R620 notebook in the UK market. It comes equipped with the ATI Radeon HD4650 graphics card and weighs around 2.75 kg. It also features a Blu-ray drive and has an in-built HDMI port for connecting to the television.

The R620 has a black stripe pattern palm rest and comes with 17-key full-sized numeric keypad and HDD option for up to 500GB. It gives a battery life of up to 4.5 hours. To provide a cleaner personal computing environment, R620 uses the hygiene technology and the anti-bacterial keyboard to protect from bacteria.

Philip Brown, general manager of Samsung Computer Systems Division, said: “The R620 is a fantastic addition to the R series range. It’s the one of the lightest notebooks in its 16” class, but it still delivers the best in High Definition multimedia experience, thanks to its powerful graphics capability and pure 16:9 aspect ratio.

“The R620 has a stylish and practical design, extensive battery life and a comprehensive range of advanced features that lets users access and share information easily and safely on the move.”

The new Samsung R620 laptop is expected to be available throughout the UK beginning July, for £699.
