Northeastern Illinois University has selected a combination of security company Symantec's backup and security software applications to implement an IT consolidation programme across virtual and physical environments.

The consolidation of Symantec's backup and security software applications also eliminates organisational silos, reduce costs, improve backup and tighten messaging security.

Symantec's consolidation enables Northeastern Illinois University to improve IT effectiveness and reduce its vulnerability to malicious email spam exploits.

All backup and recovery was consolidated to Symantec NetBackup to standardise the University's IT environment.

The University has selected Symantec Email to provide added protection against both known and unknown threats through the multiple layers of scanning technologies.
