Telefónica unveils new security service

The service allows consumers to remotely switch their digital services on and off, making them more secure.

Telefónica has introduced Latch, a new security service that has been developed by Eleven Paths.

Eleven Paths, the Telefónica Digital company created to innovate in the design of security products and directed by Chema Alonso, has unveiled Latch, a revolutionary service which, through a smartphone application, enables users to create an additional layer of security to protect their digital lives.

Latch is a smartphone application which lets consumers manage when and which of their online services are available. The user can turn their online services, from social networks to online banking, on or off via the app. If turned off, no one can access that service even if they have the log in details. The application sends an alert every time it detects that someone is trying to access one of the services that has been disconnected through Latch.

The service is now available for iOS, Android and Windows Phone.

Chema Alonso, CEO of Eleven Paths said: "Latch offers companies considerable advantages. By integrating the application into their security systems, they will offer their users the possibility of rapidly and simply increasing the security of their digital identities. And all of this thanks to a technology designed to be easily integrated."
