Serena Software extends its lean BPM offering

CBR Staff Writer Published 13 July 2009

Adds the ability to build more ‘Mashups’

Serena Software said that it plans to extend its line-up of Lean Business Process Management (BPM) offerings with Serena Business Mashups 2009 R1.

Serena Software said, it added several new features that save time and increase productivity in both the on-demand and on-premise versions. The features allow business users to build new Mashups and enhance existing Mashups, without the need for IT resources.

The company said that the new version features the ability to compare blueprints to identify any changes between published versions; improved integration to LDAP; and import pre-built Mashups via Mashup Central directly into Mashup Composer without the need to download the Mashup to the hard drive first.

According to the company, other features include the ability to create forms by incorporating data from other sources via rich interface widgets, including REST widget and visual web gadgets; orchestration debugging capability to find and fix any bugs in integrated systems and web services; and create listing reports in Mashup Composer.

More Mashups allow users to automate all kinds of business processes and achieve more efficiency throughout their organisations, the company said.
