Adblock Plus has released the revamped version of ad-blocking software which claimed to stop the inflow of ads into Android smartphones and tablets.
The new application will be available as a free app in Google Play store or from the company website and will not require a rooted (jailbroken) phone.
The open source software also claimed to work similar to the browser extension to block the intrusive ads into the Android device.
Revamped Adblock Plus claimed to block online advertising when browsing as well block in-app advertising in Facebook and Angry Birds.
Adblock Plus co-founder Till Faida said mobile devices have exploded over the past few years, and as usage of these devices has increased, so has advertising, which is becoming more and more intrusive.
"Mobile devices can feel more 'personal' than online browsing via a desktop device, making advertising on these devices even more intrusive and annoying when they interrupt browsing," Faida said.
"And by blocking ads from rendering, Adblock Plus users can experience up to 40% faster browsing on their Android devices."
