The new apps will enable organisations to implement, manage, deploy and access virtual computing environments using VMware

Dell has introduced new cloud client computing applications that claimed to provide organisations broader choice to implement, manage, deploy and access virtual computing environments using VMware.

The company is also expanding its support for VMware View and PCoIP protocol on its zero- and thin-clients, Desktop as a Service (DaaS) with PCoIP support and new channel partner applications to Europe.

Desktop as a Service (DaaS) enables customers focus on managing only the OS, applications and user profiles while leaving the management of the VDI infrastructure to the company, Dell said.

With DaaS, IT departments can scale from only a few users to thousands, enable access from several endpoint devices, simplify desktop virtualisation deployment and management and provide a predictable monthly price.

It also claimed to help customers choose the PCoIP protocol, a feature of VMware View, and get an enhanced remote user experience with HD multimedia including high resolution, full frame rate 3D graphics and HD audio, multiple large displays and broad USB peripheral connectivity.

DaaS is now available in the UK, France, Germany and the Netherlands, from Dell's data centre in Slough, UK which boasts nearly continuous uptime and application availability.

PCoIP support has been added to the Dell Wyse T50 ARM SoC thin-client to deliver enahnced graphics and multimedia performance for VMware deployments.

The X90m7 mobile thin-client now supports the Windows Embedded Standard 7 Premium operating system with VMware View Local Mode, providing mobile users with the flexibility to take their session with them.

Dell is also expanding its PartnerDirect Desktop Virtualization Solutions Competency to Europe and introducing its Cloud Client Computing Partner Advisor worldwide.

Dell Cloud Client Computing Partner Advisor helps Dell and Dell Wyse channel partners design enterprise-class desktop virtualisation architectures for their customers' specific needs in minutes.
