Networking firm Cisco has introduced a new suite of applications for the SAP HANA platform built on the Cisco Unified Computing System (Cisco UCS).
The Cisco UCS family of servers for SAP HANA claims to enable customers to gain real-time data analytics and data warehousing benefits in shorter time which would have taken hours while prepare SAP HANA to run SAP's other enterprise applications in the future.
With the UCS for SAP HANA, customers can utilise the advanced capabilities of the Cisco UCS platform, including unified fabric, hardware abstraction and central management, to lower operational costs at the system level.
Integrating SAP's in-memory computing technology with Cisco UCS will provide customers with high-availability and multisite disaster tolerance, which enables mission-critical adoption, the company said.
The Cisco UCS portfolio for SAP HANA includes extra-small, small and medium-sized rack-mount applications that support up to one-half terabyte (TB) of compressed user data. It also includes scale-out blade server applications, which support up to eight terabytes of memory.
Cisco offers customers the choice of either EMC or NetApp storage in a scale-out application for SAP HANA. The storage partners provides critical multisite data replication capabilities that are necessary to deploy SAP HANA across critical applications.
Together with its partners, Cisco offers a suite of technical and professional services to help customers plan, build, and manage a Cisco application for SAP HANA.
Cisco Solution Support Service for SAP applications, which provides a single point of contact to initiate and manage support, includes support for third-party products in support of SAP HANA.
