The global application wrapping adoption is expected to rise by 27% through 2018, while adoption of application container will climb at a 23% rate, which is expected to boost mobile workspace management subscribers, according to a new report.
ABI research's latest report revealed that the overall growth in both the adoptions would drive the global mobile workspace management subscribers to over 60 million by 2018.
ABI research senior analyst Jason McNicol said that the application wrappers will win out because of the perceived simplicity of the solution.
"Even traditional MDM vendors are packaging app wrapping as a value-added solution to retain existing customers as the enterprise mobility market continues to evolve," McNicol said.
Asia Pacific region is expected to witness aggressive growth in application wrapping adoption at 32% rise, surpassing the number of adopting schemes in the North America by 2018.
ABI research practice director Dan Shey said that there are fewer and fewer pure-play app wrapping or container suppliers.
"Increasingly, mobile workspace management vendors are offering both technologies to address the needs of any customer," Shey said.
"Winners in this market will be the most innovative around security, analytics, collaboration options, and mobile expense management services."
