A NoSQL database provider has appointed a new CMO after recently announcing $25m of VC funding.
Couchbase has employed Ian Howells as it seeks to use the investment to expand its operations in the UK from its Manchester office, following a 400% growth in sales over 2013.
CEO Bob Wiederhold said: "As enterprises rapidly adopt NoSQL, Ian's experience in the industry and proven track record will play a large role in Couchbase's expansion into new markets across the globe."
The company works with Betfair to power its web and mobile business, and hopes to make further inroads into the UK market.
"As a market-leading NoSQL provider, Couchbase's vision and technology are reshaping the database industry," said Howells.
"In joining the team, I look forward to further building Couchbase's evolving market presence, programmes and community."
