HP Vertica, Capgemini partner to offer cost-effective real-time analytics of Big Data

The partnership enables customers to combine all their available data sources and analyse that data over larger time periods

Real-time analytics platform HP Vertica and Capgemini, a consulting, technology and outsourcing services firm, have partnered to deliver new services that will meet the need for cost-effective real-time analytics of Big Data.

Capgemini will assess the customer's existing analytics infrastructure and recommend where the customer would benefit from faster queries, reduced costs and real-time analytics.

Capgemini North America Business Information Management vice president and head Scott Schlesinger said: "By partnering with HP Vertica, our customers can combine all of their available data sources and analyze that data over larger time periods, all with very fast response times, allowing them to get a clear picture of what's happening in their business right now."

HP Vertica offers in-database analytics capabilities, as well as a library of analytic functions that helping companies make the most of their web and social media data.

With HP Vertica's aggressive compression, Capgemini customers can reduce their hardware costs while increasing the amount of historic data they can store and analyse.

Capgemini Global Business Information Management chief information officer Manuel Sevilla said HP Vertica platform will help the company to provide its clients with a scalable database using commodity hardware.

"Its ability to handle huge volumes of data and its easy integration with Hadoop, make HP Vertica a natural leader in the Big Data area," Sevilla said.
