SAP has unveiled new tool which can analyse demand in real-time called SAP Enterprise Demand Sensing at the Gartner Supply Chain Executive Conference 2013 held in London, UK.
The new tool provides real-time view of market information that helps businesses to optimise demand management and business planning processes.
According to the company, the functions of the new release improve the quality of demand forecasts within the short-term period to help reduce stock-outs and expediting costs as well as increase sales.
The new application is claimed to compare and mathematically mix different forecast sources with demand analytics as well as characterise demand by analysing historical forecast accuracy.
SAP Enterprise Demand Sensing follows the launch of SAP Demand Signal Management application that is powered by the SAP HANA platform.
With integration of SAP Demand Signal Management and SAP Enterprise Demand Sensing with the SAP Advanced Planning and Optimisation application, the company offers an end-to-end demand management application.
The integration would allow the users to manage full process from demand signal capture, both from structured and unstructured sources, to short-term and long-term forecasting, resulting in increase of sales revenue and decrease in inventory costs.
