Farmers in Turkey have developed a new way of remaining connected to the Internet: solar-powered donkeys.
The solar panels, which can generate between five to seven kilowatts of energy, allow them to stay online using their mobile devices while on farming trips across the country.
Each panel produces enough energy to charge more than 1,000 mobiles.
The farmers, which were shown attaching large solar panels to a donkey, also said that the panels are particularly helpful in providing extra lighting during birthing season.
Tamer Ugurluel, the chairman of Ser-Gün, the Turkish solar panel producer behind the project, told Cihan news agency: "We aim to better the daily comfort of the producer in the countryside, providing sustainability for sheepherding."
