Google celebrates New Year with a boogie

Doodle shows ‘2013’ numbers disco dancing.

Disco dancing numbers have begun celebrating the New Year in the latest doodle to adorn Google's homepage today.

In the Saturday Night Fever-esque animation, the characters forming '2013' boogie on the dancefloor while the number four waits its turn off stage.

Even the second 'o' in Google has become a glitter ball as the smiling numbers dance the night away on New Year's Eve.

As with all Google's Doodles, clicking on the animation takes you through to listings of NYE-themed events and news, with the Berlin Philharmonic's New Year's Eve Gala being included on a list of cinema showings, and year roundups from newspapers.
