Qualcomm's search for the next groundbreaking tech startups begins anew for the fourth time this year, with winners claiming $100,000 each.
The chip maker's investment arm, Qualcomm Ventures, has kicked off its annual QPrize competition once again, and will choose winners from thousands of entries to represent seven regions including China, Latin America, the USA and India.
These winners will then compete for an additional $150,000 prize money.
Nagraj Kashyap, senior VP for Ventures, said: "The QPrize competition allows us to take a look at very early stage companies in key regions throughout the world and fund the next wave of up and coming innovators.
"Last year's entrants redefined the capabilities of mobile technology, which was showcased when the Grand Finals winner, iOnRoad, was acquired less than 30 days after the Grand Finals."
The deadline to submit business plans for consideration is April 18, after which the company will select up to eight finalists for each region before regional winners are picked.
