Adds vCloud Express to its VMware virtualised offerings
Terremark Worldwide, a provider of managed IT infrastructure services, has added vCloud Express service to its suite of VMware virtualised offerings. It allows software developers and other users to access computing resources in a pay-as-you-go model.
According to Terremark, vCloud Express offers users compatibility with their internal datacentres, as well as its Enterprise Cloud offering, enabling users to move applications to the production environment of their choice.
Integrated firewalls, load balancing and network management features allow users to customise their cloud environment to their specific needs. Users will also be able to access their cloud computing environments via the VMware vCloud API, enabling interoperability across internal and external clouds, Terramark said.
Terremark vCloud Express community website featuring expert blogs, support forums and product documentation will provide customers with an interactive platform to receive up-to-date information and insights from team of cloud computing experts, the company said.
Dan Chu, VP of emerging business at Vmware, said: “We are excited to have Terremark provide its vCloud Express and Enterprise Cloud offerings addressing both the developer and the enterprise cloud user, matching the tier of service needed to align with the IT and business needs of each.”
Terremark’s vCloud Express will initially be launched in a limited-availability beta program, with full launch scheduled by the end of 2009.
