Tibco launches RFID Interchange

CBR Staff Writer Published 25 July 2005

Tibco Software Inc yesterday released its RFID Interchange software that integrates data from an enterprise's RFID infrastructure with other enterprise applications.

The aim is to help businesses streamline operations and shed light on orders, lead times and inventory throughout the supply chain.

The software would aggregate data collected from RFID tags by RFID edge devices located at various warehousing or other facilities and incorporate it into existing business processes and applications. Essentially, it links warehouse management and order fulfillment processes.

While RFID tagging improves granularity and visibility of data, benefits come only when the processes are linked and improved to leverage the available information, said Ram Menon, Tibco senior VP of worldwide marketing, in a statement.

RFID Interchange supports EPC Global's Application Level Event specifications and real-time streamed RFID data from leading RFID printers and readers, according to Palo Alto, California-based Tibco.

Also, the program's browser and GUI-based business process templates can be configured to meet various retailers' RFID compliance mandates.
