Verizon Wireless and Research In Motion has launched new BlackBerry Curve 8530 smartphone with Verizon Wireless' 3G network, built-in GPS and Wi-Fi capabilities.
According to Verizon Wireless, the Curve 8350 smartphone comes with a choice of black and smoky violet colours. It includes full Qwerty keyboard, touch-sensitive trackpad, 256MB flash memory, 528MHz next generation processor and 2-mega pixel camera. It supports voice-activated dialing and Bluetooth and BlackBerry services with access to up to 10 supported e-mail accounts, including Yahoo, Hotmail, etc. and expandable memory via hot swappable microSD/SDHC memory card slot, supporting up to 16GB cards.
In addition, the Curve 8530 includes a 3.5 mm stereo headset jack, plus BlackBerry Media Sync, which allows syncing music from computer to the smartphone. It provides access to access to BlackBerry App World, featuring a catalog of third-party mobile applications developed specifically for BlackBerry smartphones.
The BlackBerry Curve 8530 is available from Verizon Wireless beginning November 20, 2009, for $99.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement on a voice plan with an Email and web feature or an Email and web for BlackBerry plan.
