The app targets the new or less frequent sellers.

Ecommerce major eBay has released a new pilot app called eBay Valet which can sell goods online on your behalf.

The users of the Valet service can take a snap of the items with their mobile phone they want to sell and use the app to send the item to the valet.

Within half an hour, the company will respond within the app with a valuation range for the item and take consent of the users whether they want to sell it or not.

eBay's vice president of Innovation and New Ventures Steve Yankovich said, "This is going to be the fastest, most frictionless way in eBay history that someone is able to sell an item and collect money."

"Even though you're not selling the item, there's still an experience of selling," Yankovich said.

"You get to experience the listing but do none of the work."

The Valet service will take professional photos, write detailed listings of the items, answering questions from buyers, handle shipping as well as credit the payment through PayPal.

The app designed and developed by the IIC (Israel Innovation Center) targets the new or less frequent sellers.

"This is a chance to pull in people who have never sold on eBay, period, and who maybe are not even eBayers."

"It's for people who think selling currently has too much friction."
