News: Users are unable to login to Office 365.
Microsoft Office 365 has been hit by a major outage across the UK and parts of Europe.
The outage is preventing customers from logging into their email accounts through web browsers, with the Exchange email environment affected.
The company’s health status page currently says: "There are currently no known issues preventing you from signing in to your Office 365 service health dashboard."
According to reports from Twitter users, many have been unable to login for around an hour. At time of writing, over 174 problem reports have been filed on downdetector.
Update: Microsoft identified the problem as stemming from Azure, the company’s cloud computing platform.
The Azure status page said: "Starting at approximately 09:00 on 3rd Dec, 2015, customers began experiencing intermittent issues accessing Azure services that use, or have dependencies on Azure Active Directory.
"Engineering teams have identified an Azure Active Directory configuration error that is believed to be the root cause of the issue. The team is working on failing over the impacted service components to a different environment. Impact is largely centralized to the West Europe and North Europe regions. An update will be provided in 60 minutes, or as events warrant."
