Salesforce has developed the App Cloud as it aims to deliver connect apps.
The CRM company is integrating platform services such as Force, Heroku Enterprise and Lightning with shared identity, data and network services in order to help CIOs to deliver connected apps in any language.
The company is aiming to solve the problem of siloed development platforms that are unable to produce apps that span different technical architectures and address multiple use cases.
Jim Sinai,Sr. Director, AppExchange & Platform Marketing, Salesforce, told CBR: "App strategy is still considered a challenge with different tech across different silos. Customers want more simplicity and to be more connected."
One of the typical challenges with connecting apps and data is with data integration, Sinai, said: "We’ve done work to integrate data in the back with rich API’s for any data field – any data."
In addition to services like Heroku Enterprise, the company has added Trailhead, which is an interactive learning environment that is designed to help people learn how to develop Salesforce apps.
The idea behind Trailhead is that if you don’t have access to your developers then you can learn and create without them. It utilises gamification to assist in the learning and has been used by more than 35,000 app creators during its beta release.
