To focus on business analytics marketplace
In a move to focus on growing business analytics marketplace, IBM has announced the creation of a new Business Analytics Centre of Competency in Bangalore, India.
The company said that the new centre is expected to have a staff of over 200 consultants with analytics skills, who will collaborate with local client teams to craft services that apply analytics to a company’s complex information.
According to IBM, the centre will house people with skills in deploying the company’s patented analytics capabilities and assets that address analytical applications and will focus on a number of areas vital to applying analytics to industry problems. Some of these areas include: web 2.0 analytics, risk and fraud analytics, financial analytics, customer analytics and enterprise business analytics strategy.
The company said that the centre will support its other Business Analytics Solutions Centres. In these centres, IBM draws upon its information management portfolio, including technologies from its software, hardware, and research, along with industry expertise from over 4,000 consultants in the business analytics and optimisation services practice.
In addition to business analytics, IBM has created four other centres of competency focused on deploying resources and capabilities to strategic engagements around the world. The other IBM centres include experts in the areas of strategy and change, banking/financial markets, telecommunications, and energy/utilities.
