To provide auditors with the ability to review Excel spreadsheet data
Incisive, a developer of spreadsheet analysis and management offerings, has released a new version of spreadsheet auditing software application Validate 3.0.
The company said that Validate is computer aided audit tool that provides auditors with the ability to review Excel spreadsheet data, such as formulas and logic, in order to authenticate information and establish a level of integrity of the spreadsheet.
According to Incisive, the new version offers a suite of tools designed to simplify the maintainability of audited spreadsheets. The audit change summary allows users to see changes in the spreadsheet since last audit in a single view; and
the progress panel shows audit statistics, such as new/lost cell traces and new/lost region approvals.
Inaddition, the history panel gives users the ability to see changing audit information such as added traces or removed approvals while the change report provides an account of all spreadsheet changes that have occurred since its last audit.
Other new features of Validate 3.0 include support for Microsoft Windows Vista, Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2007 and Google Spreadsheets. It offers new investigative capabilities, such as saving traces for future audits and performing an automatic ‘unhide’ of hidden data.
The company also provides Xcellerator, a spreadsheet analysis application, and Incisive Online, a spreadsheet analysis and management software as a service.
Diane Robinette for Incisive, said: “Validate 3.0 helps auditors determine a level of integrity and provide sufficient controls so spreadsheet oversights can be found quickly, thus, improving the quality of the audit while reducing time spent on review.”
