Teradata, a provider of data warehousing and enterprise analytics, has said that the Shinhan Financial Group, one of the Korea’s financial organisations, is expanding its Teradata Active Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) with the latest Teradata database software and hardware.
According to the company, this upgrade will enable the company to manage complex queries at greater speed, while accommodating its growing data management requirements.
The company claims the accelerated performance of the Teradata system will speed up the bank’s strategic decision making and business process execution based on analytics that provide user insight.
Shinhan Financial Group expects that it will be able to minimise business risks and maximise its profits by responding to changes in the financial market, the company said.
Shinhan Bank senior manager in the IT information development department Yang Seung-kwon said the EDW system has been used by subsidiaries of the Shinhan Financial Group, and it has become more important to their business performance.
"Teradata is a leading company in the global EDW sector. Based on this leadership, we decided to bring the solution and technology into our core group. Now the entire Shinhan Financial Group can expect to boost management efficiency with faster and more accurate customer analysis, " Seung said.
