Lights flash every time a user receives a tweet.
IoT based home electronics maker WeMo has updated its WeMo app, adding IFTTT support and a web based service, which is designed to give creative control of products and apps to users.
With the addition of the IFTTT feature to WeMo LED bulbs and WeMo-enabled LED lighting solutions, WeMo consumers will have better control over home lighting as well as the ability to customise household lightings.
WeMo said that users will be able to take control of the LEDs through different online apps and services including text messages, social media and geofencing.
Users will receive text message when someone gets home and turns on the lights, the lights will flash when the user receives a new tweet, and the lights will also turn on as soon as the owners reach their driveway.
The free app will also include integrated temperature and colour-changing support for the WeMo-enabled OSRAM LIGHTIFYTM bulbs which includes LIGHTIFY Flex RGBW, LIGHTIFY Gardenspot Mini RGB, LIGHTIFY Tunable White 60 bulb.
The company has also improved device discovery feature and made it as a direct, in-app link to the WeMo Community, which is a forum for WeMo users.
WeMo product management director Peter Taylor said, "Adding IFTTT compatibility to the WeMo LED bulbs unlocks a world of new customisation options for household lighting and helps users free up valuable time and energy, allowing them to live more fully in the present."
